Ponencia del vicerrector Juan Luis Rubio en el Congreso Internacional sobre Ciudad, Seguridad y Terrorismo Global

Las pequeñas y medianas empresas son, actualmente, más vulnerables que las grandes compañías frente a los ciberataques, según afirma Juan Luis Rubio, vicerrector de Universidad-Empresa de la Universidad a Distancia de Madrid (UDIMA), quien subraya que la inversión en protección sigue siendo una asignatura pendiente en España.

Rubio intervino este lunes en el Congreso Internacional sobre Ciudad, Seguridad y Terrorismo Global que convocó en la Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (UPM) el Observatorio Internacional de Seguridad (ISO, en sus siglas en inglés), con la ponencia ‘Ciberterrorismo y su impacto en las infraestructuras críticas’.

Tras recordar que no son pocas las instalaciones potencialmente atacables por hackers, desde una institución pública; una energética, como un molino de viento, hasta tan comunes como centro logísticos tipo Mercamadrid o el propio de Amazon, Rubio refirió un estudio que determina que España es uno de los países donde más se invierte en la adquisición de tecnología pero, al mismo tiempo y por desgracia, “donde menos se usa esta para defendernos y protegernos”. “No somos capaces de obtener ventaja de ello”, se lamentó.

El vicerrector de la UDIMA destacó lo fácil que es atacar con un pc y desde casa, lo que “supone un riesgo cero” para la seguridad personal del atacante, en el marco de una acción, además, que por un coste inapreciable llega a adquirir una notoriedad impensable. Con todo, se mostró optimista: “No hay que alarmarse, todo tiene solución”, y para ello, dos claves, en su opinión: “La única forma de protegernos es estar formados e informados”, concluyó.
