Infidelidad financiera es un comportamiento que “un 20% de las mujeres panameñas” posee, pues se trata de una forma de “ocultar” información sobre ingresos y egresos que las mujeres del Istmo realizan hacia sus parejas. La información fue ofrecida por La Estrella de Panamá, donde “el 40% de las encuestadas señaló que una parte de sus ingresos lo destina en algunas ocasiones a su amante”. Pero es solo una muestra. Esta ‘incidencia’, por llamarla de alguna forma, afecta a todos los, países empezando por EEUU.

Las encuestadas en el país centroamericano añadieron que “las mujeres también dicen tener cuentas separadas para su amante; el 25% de ellas dice tener tanto tarjetas débito como crédito, diferentes para los gastos en pareja y con alguna cita ocasional”.

Según Portafolio, “la infidelidad financiera podría llegar a desencadenar otros problemas al interior de la relación, por eso los expertos hacen énfasis en llevar unas finanzas personales sanas para así poder tener buena economía en pareja”.

Lo cual hace que de acuerdo como expresa Eliécer Pérez Rivera, psicólogo y psicoterapeuta de parejas, hace o hará que salten las alarmas, pues “si alguien esconde una compra, una boleta o un poco de dinero, puede tener un impacto en la relación más allá de lo esperado. Provoca discusiones, daña la confianza, y en algunos casos lleva a la separación o el divorcio”.

Añade que “si las parejas notan esto, es ideal que vayan a un experto en salud mental u otro especialista que pueda tratar el tema desde la raíz para evitar posibles conflictos en el futuro”.

El asunto es global, pues en 2018, “el 41% de los adultos estadounidenses reconoce haber incurrido en un engaño financiero con su pareja”, según la BBC.

Desde la Fundación Hergar, el CEF.- Santo Domingo y la Universidad UDIMA se busca preparar a la población de forma general a que conozca cuáles son las mejores formas de controlar o seguir sus finanzas. Por lo que se preparan cursos y másteres, cuyo propósito es que adquieran una sólida educación financiera. Ejemplo de ello son:
